Bill Beach’s Open Letter to Krugman

April 20, 2011

It was Season 5, Episode 19 of the show Friends (The one where Ross can’t flirt). Ross says his flirting got him Rachel.  Rachel responds with yep, you flirted and bam, 10 years later you got me.  Ross had this impression that his flirting got him Rachel.  The reality was it was something completely different that brought them together.  That out of the blue reference leads me to none other than the notoriously liberal Paul Krugman of the notoriously liberal NY Times.  Over the last two weeks Mr. Krugman has been making erroneous claims about the Heritage Foundation’s analysis of Paul Ryan’s budget.  (Which has passed the House; only 4 Republican representatives voted against the budget…Ron Paul of Texas, Walter Jones of North Carolina, David McKinley of West Virginia, and Denny Rehberg of Montana)  In response, Bill Beach has released an open letter to Paul Krugman that addresses these unfounded attacks.  Here is a link to it.   I think this is something that needs to get passed around because I have a sneaky suspicion that the NY Times is not going to publish it so please do so.

For those still scratching their head over my Friends reference…remember that Krugman still thinks that FDR’s New Deal policies pulled us out of the Great Depression despite all the evidence to the contrary.  Also keep in mind that for a while in Iraq I had a portable DVD player and only Season 5 of Friends to watch…I have those bad boys memorized now.  I will get back on track tomorrow and finish my little Bible series with taxes.
