Stupak and others

March 24, 2010

I really do try to give the benefit of the doubt to members of Congress and the administration that at least their intentions are good, but that is becoming harder and harder these days.  We now know that Stupak’s vote was bought with federal grants to three seldom used airports in his district.  I figured there was something up because a promise of an executive order does not trump the law…neither does the executive order itself.

Then you have Rep Dingell’s comment about Obamacare controlling the people.  It aligns with other comments from the left that reveals their point of view that the American people just do not know what’s best for them.  Elizabeth Edwards comments come to mind.

And finally there is Joe Biden’s vulgar comment caught on an open mic as he introduced the President.  Yet another item to add to the very un-presidential character of this administration.  Maybe worse is their immediate reaction to what happened.  That would be the White House’s twitter comment saying he was dead on.

The Democrats were smiling ear to ear, but I am sure it will not last for long.  14 States have filed suit and California already has a pending suit going to the Supreme Court.  There is still hope that it will never take full effect, mostly that hope falls with the next election.  Maybe once the public realizes that the insurance companies that they love to bash are banking on the deal, they will come to their senses.  The Times inadvertently revealed how this is going to happen in their recent promotional ad for Obamacare.  I find it funny that they do not realize what they did.  And while I am throwing links out there, here is one from IBD describing some of the lost freedoms.  And this is just the beginning.

your right tsc, besides the fact we can’t pay for this legislation, it is unconstitutional. in 2014 every american is mandated to purchase health care. look where we have come in one year. the government is now telling you how and where to spend your private property, your resources. that’s like the government telling you that you must buy a chevy instead of a toyota. remember the government owns general motors. this is the most blatant cronyism i have ever seen out of washington. they don’t even hide the illegal deals anymore. isn’t bribery a crime? there are numerous congressmen and senators that have been promised money and programs for their states. i am confused as to why there is no open rebellion in america. i mean revolt that is serious. obama campaigned on open and honest communication and i am yet to see any open and honest communication from that man. he has taken this country to its’ lowest since… i can’t even come up with a lower time in americas history. the worst is still to come….

I think you can add to the list of things to come… the financial legislation they are pushing now and some amnesty legislation after that
