And it certainly is not me. For those who do not know, my website seems to have been hacked over the weekend, but it was not by a liberal. It was either someone in the Ron Paul organization or one of his die hard supporters. I say this because only one post was affected. The one I wrote last week on Ron Paul’s earmarks. For the most part, it just listed the requested earmarks for last year. Well, someone got in and deleted all the earmarks and it looks like tried to embed some type of video as well (unsuccessfully I might add…I actually have been having the same trouble so if this person does figure out what they did wrong and aren’t scared to let me know…I’m just saying…). The sidebars and comment section were also affected. All that has been fixed so no big deal. It really does not bother me…those are character and integrity issues that someone else has and will have to deal with. I would like to thank those who brought this problem to my attention though.
As most could have figured by now, I am not a supporter of Ron Paul. The reasons I am not are numerous and with the upcoming GOP primary (March 2nd with early voting starting 15 February) I will explain why over the next days and weeks ahead (mixed in with my usual commentary). We share many of the same views on some issues, but not on others.
Today I just wanted to highlight a recent fundraising letter from Ron Paul to his supporters.
“and already both parties have turned their attack dogs loose on me”
“the enemies of freedom and the elites in Washington want me gone.”
“There is a tremendous anti-incumbent, anti-Washington sentiment in America. Politicians across the country face a sea change as outraged Americans threaten to vote them out. While I think this development is a good thing, I am going to have to work hard to ensure I am not caught up in the same wave and swept out of office before our job is done.”
“If I thought that it would help America, I would gladly step aside and return home to Texas. But the people who want my seat will not work for Liberty. They will instead vote for big spending, eroding our Liberties and policing the world, while ignoring our crooked monetary system.”
All these quotes are taken directly from the letter. Maybe he did not mean it this way or maybe he did, but I take offense at being called an attack dog and an enemy of freedom. I am sure the other candidates take offense to it as well. Just because you are not in the Ron Paul camp does not mean you do not believe in the Constitution or understand what it means. They do not hold some type of secret understanding that no one else can attain. This kind of arrogant thinking is what turns many people away from this candidate. But I digress…Since I wrote the recently hacked post on Mr. Paul, I have been contacted by a couple of the Republican candidates running against him in the upcoming primary. I can assure you that they are no freedom hating big government candidates. Both understand the scope of the federal government should and needs to be reduced. Here are two of these candidates. I am not specifically endorsing anyone, but I do think we should get their names out there, check out what they say, and make a decision for yourself.
Gerald Wall is one of these candidates. He is from Wild Peach (my hometown…ok, not really a town…but everyone knows where it is). He is a strong Christian who is an every day American; working maintenance in the Chemical-Petro industry for 30 years. Here is his website.
Tim Graney is a small business owner from Katy. He has experience starting up a business from scratch and understands how government interference can hamper this endeavor. He has actually challenged Mr. Paul to a debate, but the offer has not been taken up yet. Here is his website.
Though many in the Republican Party are tired of Mr. Paul’s antics, there is no organized effort that I know of. My understanding is that these candidates have not really been involved in politics before…they are just concerned citizens that want to serve. I guess the Paul group can label me an attack dog if they want, but I can think for myself. I do not take orders from anyone. I have no motive other than informing those who are willing to listen. Part of this informing is letting people know that changing the makeup of Congress begins with the primaries. If you think more ordinary Americans should be in office and career politicians should be ousted, then get to the polls and vote the incumbents out there. Otherwise we will end up in the same situation we are in now.

Great article! Hopefully people will share this info with all their email friends to get this word out. Sounds like Ron Paul and his “organization” have their own type of Chicago politics and we sure don’t need anymore of that in Washington! Keep up the good work!
Nice!! Thanks for continuing to get the information out there….even though some people think it is their right to take it off. We all appreciate the time you take to RESEARCH and get FACTS out there unlike the news that seems very opinionated or one sided.
I hate to hear that you were hacked by the Ron Paul kool-aid Brigade. I hope my re-posting of your article last week on my blog was not the cause. I can tell you, my website and blog had hundreds of hits from Ron Pauls Daily Blog during that time frame. He thinks he has a lock on this district, but as a candidate , I can tell you that as I have traveled all across this dist., he has very little support here at home. I can count the # of Ron Paul fans that I have encountered, on my fingers and toes. Most think that he needs to go. If all of us will continue to get the word out, that there is other choices besides Ron Paul, we can send him back to Texas as a private citizen. I to take offence to being called an enemy of freedom. The erosion of our freedoms is why I am in this race. My goal is to restore America back to it’s Foundational Integrity.
I am sure it was not your fault Gerald. Like I said in my post, it really does not bother me. I will make the arguments to defend my position and it is fine if others do not agree, but hopefully they will have the courtesy of simply responding to what I say instead of resorting to childish antics. And I would also say it would be appreciated if their comments are more respectful than what I have seen elsewhere on the internet. Good luck to you sir with your campaign.
Repub Mom – that is the best way to get the information out. Please encourage your friends to do just that. I find most people do not follow politics close enough to realize how much they can affect the general election with their primary vote. They suddenly find themselves at the General Election saying to themselves ‘ this is who I have to choose between’. But I do think the recent Obama election has really woken up many with this regard.
Tori – thanks for the support.
That’s sad that that happened. Hopefully whoever it was will back off and respect the hard work you put into your website. I guess they can’t handle the facts and don’t want any of us to know about them.
