Let’s Personalize Obama’s Repeal of the Mexico City Policy

December 16, 2009

Back in June I discussed the repeal of the Mexico City Policy and how this executive order allowed funding to the UN Population Fund.  Like I said before, the UNPF helps to support China’s one child policy, but I wonder how many people really understand what that means.  So let’s personalize it.  Here is a short story from Breakpoint that describes what happened to A Chinese woman called Wujian (name changed to protect her of course)

I wonder how Obama would respond if he were to be questioned on why he would fund an organization that supports these human rights violations?  Would he try to balance himself on his perpetual fence as he does with other questions of morality?  Or would he stand up for what is right?  At this point who knows what he actually believes.  I love to have the opportunity to question him on this as I would like to question Representative Louise Slaughter who sponsored the provision in the first pork laden spending bill.  It would be interesting.

On a separate note, here is a somewhat funny post from the Foundry on the Copenhagen conference.   It seems they are having trouble fitting the 45,000 registered participants into the arena designed for 15,000.  Ironically all those waiting to get inside are braving some really cold weather.
