A few interesting things have happened over the last couple of weeks that have not been overly publicized. The first concerns the White House Communications Director. It has been announced that Anita Dunn, the Obama administrations attack dog against Fox News , is stepping down at the end of the month. The White House’s Alinsky strategy to demonize Fox News has backfired in a major way and so now Obama, as he often does, is trying to distance himself from the problem he created. In one article I read, a White House insider said that this was the plan all along. To make Dunn the point person for the strategy so the administration to distance itself if it needed to. It is also important to note that she is returning to Squier Knapp Dunn where she will continue to be a consultant for the White House. An out of view, out of mind strategy that Obama also uses frequently. Point in case, Reverend Wright. This is also the revolving door that Michelle Malkin describes in her latest book. A lot of your tax dollars I am sure will be heading her way. So much for changing Washington.
She did not go quietly though. In an effort to illustrate that she has completely lost her mind she praised Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart for his journalism and said MSNBC is not biased. She also criticized the Bush administration of all people saying -
“We are running this transparent and very accountable administration…That was not the case when Karl Rove was calling the shots in the White House for eight years.”
This was a response to Bush’s secret meetings. Oh what a short memory she has. I am not even a news guy and I wrote about their recently revealed secret meetings with the health industry lobbyists. The health care legislation written behind closed doors. They have also refused to release the visitor logs to the White House. Their lack of transparency and accountability is so well documented that you would have to be delusional to say otherwise. Maybe she is.
The other recent event has to do with Anita Dunn’s husband, Bob Bauer. I briefly mentioned him in a past post. Gregory Craig has stepped down as Obama’s Chief Counsel and will be replaced with Anita Dunn’s husband. Other than swapping family members in his administration, this is why this is a little suspicious.
First, Gregory Craig is obviously being thrown under the bus for the handling of the Guantanamo Bay disaster. The Guantanamo Bay shut down is not going as planned and will not be closed by year end as promised by Obama’s administration. It was a disaster from the beginning as they made the decision to close it and did not have an answer to where they were going to put these terrorists. Then they canceled many of Bush’s policies only to re-instate them because they were actually effective and legal. Then they had to brush aside the reports from the Red Cross saying that the facility met humanitarian standards. Gregory Craig is going to take the blame for all of this among other things.
The more interesting part is that his replacement is Bob Bauer. This news comes exactly one week after ACORN’s national headquarters in New Orleans was raided. Some people believe the raid seized paper records and computer hard drives that may lead to the White House. Bob Bauer was Obama’s general counsel during his campaign and defended ACORN and their voter fraud. His knowledge of ACORN and its connection to the liberals on the left makes his sudden appointment suspicious at best. I doubt ACORN or the White House were dumb enough to allow a paper trail, but who knows. Bauer will, though, be the point man for any fallout from this that leads back to his long time friend.
Oh… and ACORNs response to all of this corruption. They have filed lawsuits against the investigative journalists that caught them and a lawsuit against the federal government for de-funding them. I can’t make this stuff up. Even if I tried.
