Last night I attended an Award Dinner put on by the Captain Andrew R. Houghton Foundation at the Strake Jesuit campus in Houston. At the dinner the foundation gave a scholarship to Kenneth Lahart, Strake Jesuit Class of 2012. A very deserving student who has demonstrated a great work ethic and a great sense of service to the community. Qualities exhibited by Andy himself.
The scholarship given last night is only a small sample of what this great organization does. Since its inception, the foundation has helped over 200 West Point Cadets, sent over 150 at risk kids to Christian summer camps, and does great work with the Special Olympics. I encourage everyone to support this organization in its future endeavors.
