I am being pretty lazy today so I thought I would throw out a few links for people to read relating the fudged job numbers Obama and his administration are putting out there. Here is a link to a short research page on some of the bogus job numbers reported by the administration. They reported 640,329 jobs saved or created. Here are a few of my favorites:
The Administration for Children and Families at Health and Human Services claimed that recovery funds “saved” 14,506 jobs, when in actuality the money went to give raises to 9,300 existing employees. In response, HHS spokesman Luis Rosero said, “If I give you a raise, it is going to save a portion of your job.”
An Associated Press (AP) review of the full recipient report found that more than 250 local agencies reported saving jobs when the money was actually used to give raises to existing employees.
In Ohio, the Columbus school district admitted that they were told by the State Department of Education to report jobs that wouldn’t have been lost anyway as being saved by stimulus money.
Of the 19,752 created jobs in Texas, 5,100 were part-time summer youth jobs.
In North Chicago, a school district that employs 290 teachers was credited with saving 473 jobs. When asked about the data, the district’s superintendent said, “That other number, I don’t know where that came from.”
There are a couple of important things to note. First, these ‘mistakes’ in the job numbers are not being reported by a transparent administration. They are being reported by local and national news agencies that are actually digging for the facts. Good for them. Second, some of the reports indicate that numbers are changing after the fact (such as Chicago superintendent not knowing where they got his 473 from). That means someone in the administration is doing a little book cooking. Lastly, the reports in the link I gave are just the tip of the iceberg. Do some Bing searching and you will find more. It was bound to happen because the original stimulus had little to do with economics and much to do about a liberal agenda. One the Wall Street Journal called a 40 year wish list.
Here is a link to another short report on a little more Obama hypocrisy. It is a throwback to the Ominous spending bill that Obama signed. The one with all the earmarks. I wrote about it when he signed it.
And for those who like charts, here are several that show the fiscal irresponsibility of this administration. Despite his rhetoric. Remember actions are more important to look at with Obama than words. He will say anything. Lets hold him accountable for his actions.
