Patrick Courrielche has written another article about the NEA conference call revealing even more information. This came as people questioned if the comments were taken out of context. So Patrick has put a link to the entire call transcript and audio for people to decide for themselves. His new article itself is pretty startling as well. This has prompted the White House to release this statement
“To the extent there was any misunderstanding about what the NEA may do to support the national service initiative, we will correct it. We regret any comments on the call that may have been misunderstood or troubled other participants. We are fully committed to the NEA’s historic mission, and we will take all steps necessary to ensure that there is no further cause for questions or concerns about that commitment.”
I do not believe any comments were misunderstood. They are actually very clear. One unnamed official called the call inappropriate, but that is an understatement. There are some legal issues here. It is becoming very apparent that this new administration will only act to ‘change’ when they are forced to and this is a concern considering the lack of media scrutiny. It has taken a relentless talk show host to oust corrupt officials, a couple of kids to oust ACORN, and now an attendee to a conference call to oust this illegal behavior. I hope it is becoming apparent to the general public that there is no transparency here unless you dig for it. I imagine the only real regret they have at this point is inviting Patrick Courrielche to the call.
It is no different on other fronts either. Obama has not changed the corrupt Washington environment and has not brought leadership to the office. Take this exchange with George Stephanopoulos.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Congress has just cut off…
OBAMA: Is — is…
STEPHANOPOULOS: …all funding for ACORN.
OBAMA: It’s…
STEPHANOPOULOS: Are you for that?
OBAMA: Is that true on the other side, as well?
Of course that’s true.
STEPHANOPOULOS: How about the funding for ACORN?
OBAMA: You know, if — frankly, it’s not really something I’ve followed closely. I didn’t even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Both the Senate and the House have voted to cut it off.
OBAMA: You know, what I know is, is that what I saw on that video was certainly inappropriate and deserves to be investigated.
STEPHANOPOULOS: So you’re not committing to — to cut off the federal funding?
OBAMA: George, this is not the biggest issue facing the country. It’s not something I’m paying a lot of attention to.
Obama would not even answer this very simple question and really it was a softball question at that. I would have asked are you going to have the organization as a whole investigated, but oh well. He could have answered ‘yes, I support Congress’ actions’ and gained the respect of people from both sides of the aisle. It would be a move to end corruption. Change, finally. But he would not even take a simple stand against his beloved ACORN. It is hardly believable that he does not know or “hasn’t followed” the situation. He seems to follow just about everything else…Prof Gates…Kanye West…need more examples. I do not think taking the Pelosi defense strategy in this case will do the President any good.
I guess in the end I hope these events are a wake up call to the media. Maybe with all of recently exposed officials and groups, the MSM will finally take up the challenge to do their jobs. It really is a gold mine out there, but you do have to open your eyes.

He of course knew all about the defunding vote, and of course was lying, obfuscating and changing the subject. And the softpedaling of ACORN’s behavior as “inappropriate” is typical. What we need is a Netanyahu type to come on TV after every single Obama interview or speech to clarify what is reality as opposed to the ultra-cynical spin we get from Obama.
He is the ultimate politician….not to be confused with being a leader.
