I spent a few hours this weekend reading Michelle Malkin’s Culture of Corruption and now I understand why it is a New York Times #1 Bestseller. I also understand why liberals would like it to go away and why their only argument against it is “what about Bush?” An argument that Michelle shot down on her recent appearance on The View. Here is that appearance if you did not see it on TV. It was pretty obvious that they had not read the book, which made it that more enjoyable for me and painfully embarrassing for them. If they had read the book, they would have noticed a little something on page 111 that I am sure would have infuriated them.
Although an ardent conservative, Malkin does not go into a philosophical debate in this book. She instead concentrated on the corrupt figures in the administration and those who Barack and Michelle have relied on to get to their current positions. By going this route, Michelle Malkin made it impossible to defend Obama and his cronies with the usual partisan argument. The book is filled with facts about both Obamas, Biden, and all of their top advisors and appointees. And these facts are damning. For both the people detailed in the book and the message of ‘Change’ that is obviously now a lie. I knew of most of the people in the book, but Malkin described their transgressions in much more detail. The most interesting chapter for me was the one on Michelle Obama. I think most will be surprised of her role in bringing Barack into the corrupt Chicago political machine. The only people I felt she left out of the book, which could have made it better was a more detailed analysis of Obama’s relationship with Bill Ayers. Also left out completely was his relationship with Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and how the radical community organizer Saul Alinsky influenced the many groups such as ACORN as well as Obama himself. Despite these omissions, the book is a great read and very informative and I encourage everyone to give it a try…and pass it on to any of your liberal friends as well. Challenge them to read it. It would be quite an education. You can buy the book at the Conservative Book Club , Amazon , or at your local store.
As I said, I was reading Culture of Corruption this weekend so I did not take the time to really scrub through the latest of the President’s propaganda speeches as I usually do. (By the way, my fiancée was really amazed I could read the whole book and not miss any football games) I really am getting tired of hearing the same misleading statements over and over again anyways. You could probably go back and read what I said about some of his other speeches and it would suffice, but here are a couple of blog entries from the Heritage Foundation in case you are interested.

That was good multi-tasking. The Texas game wasn’t on though so I don’t think football had your full attention. We need another tv.
