My favorite person seems to always be in the news. This time it has been revealed that his nephew has received millions of dollars in no bid defense contracts. It is very convenient that John Murtha sits on the defense appropriations committee. Everyone knows the bacon factory that is the office of John Murtha so it should come as no surprise that his associates get a lot of government money. It is just that this time it is a family member.
The most ironic thing about this ordeal is that in 2007 Murtha voted YES to restrict no bid defense contracts. If you remember it was brought about because of Halliburton and every liberal took this opportunity to bash the Bush administration because of it. They are noticeably silent now and are even using the same reasoning to defend this contract. Oh, the irony or I guess hypocrisy. You can pick one.
