DNC attacks South Carolina Governor

March 24, 2009

The governor of South Carolina wrote a very good editorial in the Wall Street Journal the other day explaining why he does not want the stimulus.  It was pretty much common sense.

He explained that his state was already in the red and it was not a good idea to spend more money through the stimulus because this money would only be there for 24 months.  Then they would be back in the same exact situation.  Actually a worse situation if any of that money went to government programs.  Because of this he asked the White House for a waiver from the restrictions placed on the stimulus money.  The waiver would be needed because Gov. Sanford wanted to use the money to pay off debt, which would help the long term financial condition of his state.

This is where politics gets involved.  As explained in his editorial, before the White House even acknowledged his request, the DNC launched attack ads against the governor.  I bring this up as another example of the political games the Obama administration are playing. They tell the people that they want ideas and will work across the aisle, but their actions show otherwise.

It showed in how they used the media during the election, it showed in their actions against Rush, the writing of the stimulus bill, and now in their handling of a simple request from a governor.  This was a very obvious case of the Obama administration passing on information to the DNC for partisan attack ads simply because of dissent. It is about time for someone to question these tactics and ask them why they lied about the change they promised. Maybe some of the media that pushed their mantra of change.

That one got by me. I hadn’t heard, but thanks for the heads up. I would encourage everyone to sign it as John Murtha certainly does not deserve this kind of award.
