Every move made by the Democrats show their true purpose for this stimulus package. Reid and Pelosi rushed the stimulus bill through a vote Friday. So Obama signed it, right?
No, he is taking a long weekend in Chicago and will not sign the legislation until Tuesday. So what’s the rush. Why would the Democratic leadership expedite this bill through on Friday when they know the President won’t be back until after the weekend. They promised they would put the Bill on the web for the American public to view for 48 hours before putting it to a vote. That did not happen.
They did not even give legislators time to read the legislation. It ballooned to over 1,000 pages during the House and Senate negotiations. It was not physically possible for our representatives to read the entire stimulus and they still voted for it. That’s right. They voted for legislation that they did not even read. They could have voted to give complete power to a Chihuahua and they would be none the wiser.
The explanation is simple. This bill has very little to do with stimulus and everything to do with increasing government. Remember what Obama said last week. Government is the only answer. It is a way for the Democrats to grab power and hold it as they did during the Great Depression. Their policies make the people dependent on the government and has bred this since of entitlement in our country. They know it is extremely unpopular with conservatives and filled with their pet project wish list. Because of this, they do not want to give conservatives time to inform the people of its newest contents, nor do they want to give the average American this opportunity. These projects must be passed before there are signs of economic recovery, which will occur on its own. They just need to be able to take credit for it.
What has happened over this last week is nothing less than complete irresponsibility by our representatives. And the Democrats are proud. The President gave a thumbs up when told of its passage and Pelosi added to that gesture with the following,
“Barack Obama, in just a few short weeks as president, has passed one of the biggest packages for economic recovery in our nation’s history,”
Forget that it is filled with pork and not recovery, or that they broke yet another promise to the American people by not placing the bill on the web for people to review. All they did was spend another $800 billion taxpayer dollars that they do not have and tried to convince people it is a good idea. This irresponsibility is not the change Washington needed. This is the change of Saul Alinsky.

However frightening this turn of events may be and regardless of the time that they had to review the bill, they did have the means to review the bill (the lackeys in their offices whose job it is to read through tripe like this). Also, I hope that it wasn’t a surprise to anyone that a bunch of politicians failed to hold true to their promise of giving the public an opportunity to review the bill before it was presented to congress. We, the people, need to do a little community organizing of our own and stand up for our rights by communicating with our elected “leadership” (if you can call them that). Also, the Alinsky reference was right on and I just hope that the readers are aware of who he was and the role that he played and is still playing in absentia. I found an article regarding Alinsky and his influence on Obama and Hillary that might shed some light on a few things for those that are not aware of his history. Glad someone got the Alinsky link…I think it is an important one that was overlooked by a lot of people during the election. IBD actually had articles on it.
Someone also made a good point to me yesterday about why our representatives (I use our loosely because down here in Texas they voted against it) did not read it. That is once they got their provision in, they really didnt care what else was in it.
