When I was in high school I had a biology teacher who taught evolution. The test on the subject was a roundtable discussion where we posed questions and answered others. I threw my teacher for a loop when I started arguing the creationist theory. Of course because of the school environment I used scientific evidence to back my stance, and by all accounts I would have to say that I won. I am sure my teacher was a bit unprepared though. It wasn’t until years later that I heard an argument that I should have used. If the evolution theory is true, then why are there still monkeys?
I bet you are wondering how I can tie this into the election. Well, it is going to take a Frank Caliendo style ride on his way to his Steve Miller Band joke, but here it is. Barack Obama promotes a campaign of change, but what has he changed. He grew up as a politician in the city of Chicago, a city known for its corrupt politicians and those who promote them. It contains the likes of Tony Rezko, Bill Ayers, Gov. Rod Blagojevich, and Mayor Daley to name a few. Did he reform this system or even attempt to change the way politics are done in Chicago? Did he try to bring justice to these people corrupting the system? No, he did not. In fact he used this corrupt system to propel himself to the position he is in now. You can say what you will about Sarah Palin and her experience, but when she says she can bring change, she at least has a record of bringing corrupt political figures to justice instead of using them for her own gain.
But back to Obama. Not only did he not stop the corruption, he did not even fix the basic problems of Chicago. Their high poverty rate, their high taxes, poor school system and high crime rate still exist. In fact more people were killed in Chicago last summer than in Iraq. The major spending policies he promoted while in the state legislature created one of the highest tax rates in the country while accomplishing absolutely nothing. These are the same policies he is trying to bring to our capital.
So you have to ask yourself a very simple question. If he failed to change Chicago, then why should we expect him to change Washington?

I know, Obama hasn’t done a thing to show that he will change anything in this country (at least not for the good). He doesn’t give me any hope when there’s nothing to back it up. I’m tired of this “Hope and Change” I keep hearing about.
Whenever I hear anyone, and especially conservative Christian Republicans, talk about voting for the lesser of two evils, I think of an election between Hitler and Stalin. I can just imagine one group of people saying that they are voting for Stalin because Hitler beleives a, b, and c, while the other side says that they are voting for Hitler because Stalin believes in x, y, and z.
The best reason I have heard offered for voting for Obama or McCain is that Obama is not McCain and McCain is not Obama. Conservative Christian Republicans are the worst. Nothing McCain believes or doesn’t believe means anything; nothing McCain has done or will do means anything. The first words out of their mouth when you ask them about McCain are “Barak Obama is” or “Barak Obama will.” How shallow these Christians are.

I’m not sure what you mean by Conservative Christian Republicans being the worst and being shallow. If you’re talking about this website, there are posts that talk about what McCain believes and what he’ll do. What is so frustrating is that Obama is ahead in the polls and all I hear from his supporters is that they’re ready for change. But they aren’t very specific. I have to wonder if they’re ready for higher taxes or what it is they’re so crazy about. I don’t understand the Obama craze, McCain is this amazing war hero that wants the best for his country. He wants to do what’s right, it’s something he’s already proven he’s willing to fight for. There are a lot of reasons why I choose McCain, but if not for anything else, I think he has a better understanding of the war and our strategies. There has been major progress over there and Obama just wants all of our troops to leave, right now? It’s awful, such a waste.

You are making the assumption that I am voting for the less of two evils, which I am not. I am voting for the candidate that I feel is best qualified to lead this country and one who falls in line with what I believe when it comes to policies.
I do try to point out fallacies in the opponent’s message and policies out of comparison to what I believe. As other commenter said, I have covered some points and policies that I agree with McCain on as separate issues, but mostly I do it in comparison so people can see the differences.
I also try to bring to light some items that are mostly ignored by mainstream media.
Oh Kimberly, you’ve misunderstood me, sorry. I am a Conservative Christian Republican. But with Libertarian leanings. In other words I’m so much further right it would make your head swim. I too was a NeoConservative as you are. I got sick of the lies & the killing.
Now, to my point. Christian after Christian I talk to fall back on the lesser than two evils defense. You must admit that you run into that often also. You, as well as tsc, are informed citizen/Christians that I would not lump into my broad stroke. Peace
I am still confused because I think you are trying to say that I don’t want peace. I don’t like war. But I think we, as a country, should stand up for ourselves. We can’t just ignore people that are trying to kill us and hope they go away.
