Questions For Obama – Part 2

July 18, 2008

Some more questions for Obama that will probably never be asked of him nor ever answered.  This time about his stance on Abortion.

 1.  Do you believe that abortion is wrong?  If so, why will you not take a stand against it?

 2.  Do you believe that partial birth abortion is wrong?  If so, why did you vote against a ban of this procedure while in the Illinois State Legislature?

 3.  Murder is a conscious decision to perform an action which stops life.  Without said action a person will continue to live.  The same is true with a fetus.  If no action is taken, it will continue to grow and live.  What is the difference between stopping life in these two instances?  Don’t they both take a conscious decision to stop life?  Don’t they both require an action to do so?

 4.  In a case where a pregnant mother is murdered, it is considered a double homicide.  Do you support such decisions? If so, how is this different than when a mother decides to kill the same fetus?  Are you saying it is ok for the mother to kill the fetus, but is wrong if someone else does it?

 5.  Sex is an action.  Getting pregnant is one consequence of this action.  Logic then says that having an abortion is the refusal to accept responsibility for the consequences of this action.  Is this an ideal that you would promote to the American people and in your administration or is it just ok for this particular issue?

 6.  In the South Carolina Democratic Primary Debate you made the following statement,”  I trust women to make these decisions in conjunction with their doctors and their families and their clergy.”  If you believe this, then why did you vote against a bill that required parental notification of minors who crossed state lines to get an abortion?

 7.  On your website, you state that “Our goal should be to make abortion less common”.  In 2005 you voted for an amendment to the 2006 fiscal year budget that would allocate 100 million dollars for emergency contraceptives (morning after pills) and emergency contraceptive education.  Is this your way of making abortion less common?
